Rappel du premier message :
4. Raising the minimum wage helps the poor. The president wants to increase the federal minimum wage to $10.10 from $7.25, with the tagline “Let’s give America a raise.” The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the hike would cost 500,000 jobs, one blow to the low-wage earners it claims to help. Employment aside, only 18% of the earnings benefits of a $10.10 hike would flow to people living below the poverty line, according to analysis from University of California-Irvine economist David Neumark. Nearly 30% of the benefits would go to families three times above the poverty line or higher, in part because half of America’s poor families have no wage earners. Minimum-wage increases help some poor families—at the expense of other poor families.
You won’t hear that from Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, who in September lived on $79 for a week to show his public-relations solidarity with minimum-wage earners. Keep in mind: Only 4.7% of minimum-wage earners are adults working full-timetrying to support a family, and nearly all would be eligible for the earned-income tax credit and other welfare programs.
5. Global warming is causing increasingly violent weather. Tell that to Floridians, who are enjoying the ninth consecutive season without a hurricane landfall. The Atlantic hurricane season in 2013 was the least active in 30 years. Oh, and global temperatures have not increased for 15 years.
Still, something must be done! On Monday, the Hill reported that an internal memo circulating among five environmental groups detailed plans for spending to support candidates “who want to act” to combat climate change. “We are on track to spend more than $85 million overall including more than $40 million in just six Senate races,” the memo said. The beneficiaries include Sen. Mark Udall (D., Colo.), who got $12.1 million, and Rep. Bruce Braley (D., Iowa) with $7.2 million.
6. Genetically modified food is dangerous. Farmers have been breeding crop seeds for 10,000 years, but the agricultural innovation known as genetic modification makes liberals shudder. Not a single documented illness has resulted from the trillions of meals containing “genetically modified organisms,” or GMOs, that humans have consumed since the mid-1990s. The technology has been declared safe by every regulatory agency from the Food and Drug Administration to the European Commission.
But insisting on labeling food containing GMOs has turned into a liberal cause. The California Democratic Party platform in 2012 added a demand for GMO labeling; more recently the Oregon Democratic Party climbed aboard. In May 2013, self-described socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont introduced a farm-bill amendment that would allow states to require GMO labeling for food; co-sponsors of the amendment, which failed, included Sens. Mark Begich (D., Ala.) and Jeff Merkley (D., Ore.).
7. Voter ID laws suppress minority turnout. More than 30 states have voter-ID laws, which the left decries as an attempt to disenfranchise minorities who don’t have identification and can’t pay for it. Yet of the 17 states with the strictest requirements, 16 offer free IDs. The Government Accountability Office this month released an analysis of 10 voter-ID studies: Five showed the laws had no statistically significant effect on turnout, four suggested a decrease in turnout (generally among all ethnic groups, though percentages varied), and one found an increase in turnout with voter ID laws in place.
The Democratic Senate candidate in Kentucky, Alison Lundergan Grimes, has nonetheless been running radio ads in urban areas claiming that “Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are trying to take away our right to vote,” based on a 2007 voter-ID amendment the minority leader introduced.

Notre administration refuse d'utiliser le terme d'Islam radical:
Harf: There are other forms of extremism that are important

CHANGE!
*Ne pas oublier qu'a bout de nerfs, il a abandonne Benjamin a ses collaborateurs pendant qu'il montait dans les appartements prives de la Maison Blanche pour dejeuner/diner.
====
Toujours a chipoter

Muslim Mayor of Rotterdam tells Islamists to “F*** Off” and “pack your bags and leave” on live television
The mayor of an ethnically diverse European city has earned the praise of London mayor Boris Johnson after expressing his disapproval with fellow Muslims who failed to appreciate the freedoms enjoyed in the Western world, telling them to “pack your bags”.
Mayor Aboutaleb said: “It is incomprehensible that you can turn against freedom… But if you don’t like freedom, for heaven’s sake pack your bags and leave.”

In Paris, Kerry slammed for 'You've Got a Friend' diplomacy
While the Obama administration is still taking flak for failing to send a top-level official to a Paris anti-terrorism rally, Secretary of State John Kerry is now being mocked for bringing France the music of singer-songwriter James Taylor.
Speaking with French President François Hollande, Kerry expressed "the full and heartfelt condolences of the American people" for the terrorist attacks of this past month, beginning with the strike on the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
He was joined by Taylor who performed his well-known version of the Carole King song "You've Got a Friend." Taylor was in Paris promoting an upcoming European tour.

'Sea of Blue' rally backs police

'Sea of Blue' rally held in Washington D.C. 01:47
Video
Washington (CNN)—Hundreds of people gathered Saturday to show their support for law enforcement following nationwide protests of controversial police incidents in Ferguson, Missouri; New York City and other areas.
The group endured cold temperatures at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in downtown Washington, D.C. and marched more than a half dozen blocks toward a "Sea of Blue" rally at the U.S. Capitol.
Organizers put together the event to try to counter some of the anti-law enforcement sentiment expressed in the nationwide protests.
Suite: Terrance Gainer, former sergeant at arms for the U.S. Senate, told the crowd that "of 40 million encounters police will have with the public, 98.5 percent" of them are "good and great," and said cops should empathize with minority groups, who sometimes complain about their treatment at the hands of police.
"We all have something in common," Gainer said. "We can't forget who we are, and lose that in the job we have to do, which sometimes is very, very troubling," Gainer said.
Many speakers remembered loved ones killed in the line of duty.
Event co-organizer Kelly Wince, whose husband is a police officer, told CNN that all professions include some bad actors, but most police are "good officers" who put themselves in danger protecting the public.
"My husband leaves every night and I never say goodbye, I say 'stay safe' and 'I love you,' because I don't know if he's coming home tomorrow." Wince said.
Standing behind law enforcement officers is "long overdue, " Wince said. "Our officers need to know that our nation supports them."

George Soros funds Ferguson protests, hopes to spur civil action
Liberal billionaire gave at least $33 million in one year to groups that emboldened activists
By Kelly Riddell - The Washington Times - Wednesday, January 14, 2015
There’s a solitary man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement. No, it’s not victim Michael Brown or Officer Darren Wilson. It’s not even the Rev. Al Sharpton, despite his ubiquitous campaign on TV and the streets.
Rather, it’s liberal billionaire George Soros, who has built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe while forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy, not unlike what he did with MoveOn.org.
Mr. Soros spurred the Ferguson protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to interviews with key players and financial records reviewed by The Washington Times.
In all, Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups that emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson, according to the most recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.
The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre.
“Our DNA includes a belief that having people participate in government is indispensable to living in a more just, inclusive, democratic society,” said Kenneth Zimmerman, director of Mr. Soros‘ Open Society Foundations’ U.S. programs, in an interview with The Washington Times. “Helping groups combine policy, research [and] data collection with community organizing feels very much the way our society becomes more accountable.”

. Personal life[edit]
Gabbard's first name, "Tulsi," comes from the name of a plant, holy basil, sacred in Hinduism.[96] She is a vegetarian and a Hindu who follows Gaudiya Vaishnavism,[11] a religious movement brought to the United States in the 1960s by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada under the name ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), also known as the Hare Krishna movement. She especially appreciates the Bhagavad Gita as a spiritual guide,[3] and used the Gita when she was ceremonially sworn in as a Representative.[97] Gabbard describes herself as a "karma yogi"[98] and credits her parents with instilling the value of "karma yoga" and being of service in her and her siblings.[30] As a Vaishnava, Gabbard looks forward to visiting India, especially the holy sites of Vrindavan, after starting her Congressional term.[99]
Gabbard has said that she is pleased that her election gives hope to young American Hindus who "can be open about their faith, and even run for office, without fear of being discriminated against or attacked because of their religion".[100] In 2002, Gabbard was a martial arts instructor.[101]
Gabbard was married to Eduardo Tamayo;[47] they divorced on June 5, 2006.[2] She cites "the stresses war places on military spouses and families" as a reason for their divorce.[22] Tamayo donated $500 to Gabbard's House campaign.[102]
Gabbard called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he was on a visit to New York on September 28, 2014 and presented him with a ginger flower garland from Hawaii.[103] She also gifted her own copy of the Hindu Holy Book "Bhagavad Gita" (same copy that she used to take the Oath of Office) to Narendra Modi.[104]
